Peace and prosperity aren't pipe dreams, but they sure seem a long way off for those trying to get by in a world that demands we sell our souls to its gods of greed and conflict.

Yet we're sitting back, waiting to be saved by a white knight that may never come. Neither government nor religion offer much hope and even less help, leaving many disconnected from what they promise while dragging us all deeper into the mess.

It's time we accept responsibility for our part in the way things are and begin focusing together on finding our way out.

It doesn't require selfless sacrifice or turning our backs on the world. It only requires we renew our vision of where we're trying to go, and move through our difficulties in a better way. That way calls us to know who we are are and what we're all about, and then reflect it while we make our stand for the truth we know inside -- with greater allowance for others to do the same.
