How Will We Get There?Perhaps I should start with the question, "Where are we going?" But I think that's putting the cart before the horse. In building a better tomorrow, whether only for ourselves or our world, the issue we face every step along the way is, "Does the end really justify the means?" So many have said that it does, and structured their lives accordingly. When push came to shove, they chose the one that clearly led to where they wanted to go -- even if it meant selling their souls in the process. How do we sell our souls? By trading in our integrity for the things that we want. For more money. For power. For a good time. For some of us, those trades eat us away inside until we become embittered shells of ourselves, unable to look ourselves in the mirror. Others push those values aide, selling what they once held dear for expediency or self-interest. If we're to build a better tomorrow, will we make our stand for those inner attributes that too often get little attention when we're trying to get by in life? Or will we continue to erode away those values until nothing's left inside. My vote goes for the first course, living in a way that reflects our best characteristics. Selling out isn't one of them. Am I a dreamer? Sure. But I'm not alone. Many others also dream of a world that better reflects who we are inside. If you're one of us, don't give up. Or give in. Even if you slip along the way, pick yourself up and try again. You can do it. I know you can. God bless you indeed.
